Pickup and Delivery Scheduling

Providing accurate delivery and pickup times is crucial for managing customer expectations and ensuring a smooth transaction process. This guide will walk you through the steps to set up delivery and pickup times using the Dokan plugin on the Oregon Field to Fork marketplace.

Step 1: Log in to Your Vendor Dashboard

Start by logging in to your vendor dashboard on Oregon Field to Fork.

Step 2: Access Shipping Settings

1. Navigate to Settings: Once logged in, find the “Settings” option in your dashboard menu.


2. Select the Shipping Tab: Click on the “Shipping” tab to access the shipping settings. Note: There is a “Delivery Time” tab also on the sidebar, but it isn’t where we are wanting to go right now. It will be used later on in the process.

Step 3: Add or Edit Shipping Methods

 

To set up delivery and pickup times, you first need to ensure that your shipping methods are properly configured.

1. Add Shipping Method:

  • If you haven’t set up any shipping methods, click on “Add Shipping Method.”
  • Select your preferred method (Flat Rate, Free Shipping, Local Pickup) from the dropdown menu.
  • Click “Add Shipping Method” to confirm.

2. Edit Existing Shipping Methods:

  • If you already have shipping methods set up, click on “Edit” next to the method you wish to configure.

Step 4: Set Up Delivery Time

1. Access Delivery Time Settings:

  • Within the shipping method settings, look for an option to add or edit delivery time.
  • This may be under a section labeled “Delivery Options,” “Shipping Options,” or similar.

2. Specify Delivery Time:

  • Enter the estimated delivery time for the shipping method (e.g., “3-5 business days” for flat rate shipping).
  • Ensure the delivery time is realistic and takes into account processing and shipping durations.

3. Save Changes:

• Click “Save” or “Update” to apply the changes to your shipping method.

Step 5: Set Up Pickup Time

For local pickup options, it’s essential to provide clear pickup times to your customers.

1. Access Pickup Settings:

• Within the shipping method settings, select “Local Pickup” or the equivalent method you have set up for pickups.

2. Specify Pickup Time:

• Enter the available pickup times (e.g., “Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM”).

• You can provide multiple time slots or specific pickup windows based on your availability.

3. Add Additional Instructions:

• Include any special instructions for customers regarding pickups, such as contact details or specific locations for pickup.

4. Save Changes:

• Click “Save” or “Update” to apply the pickup time settings.

Step 6: Communicate Delivery/Pickup Times to Customers

Clear communication about delivery and pickup times helps prevent misunderstandings and improves customer satisfaction.

1. Product Listings:

• Ensure that delivery and pickup times are visible on your product listings.

• Include this information in the product description or as a separate section.

2. Shipping Policy Page:

• Create or update a shipping policy page on your store.

• Include detailed information about your delivery and pickup times, methods, and any other relevant details.

3. Order Confirmation:

• When customers place an order, provide delivery or pickup time information in the order confirmation email.

• Ensure customers are aware of when to expect their delivery or when they can pick up their order.
