How to List Basic Products

Listing your products on Oregon Field to Fork allows you to showcase your locally grown produce, meats, and other food items to a wide range of customers. Follow these steps to list your products effectively:

Step 1: Access the Products Page

In order to list your product navigate using your dashboard side bar to the products page (Dashboard > Products) and then select the “Add new product” button in the upper right corner. If you have a product already listed that you need to modify, just click on the name of the product.

Step 2: Enter Product Basics

1. Title: Enter a concise title for your product, focusing on what the product is. Avoid including your brand name, location, or size in the title.

2. Product Type: Choose the appropriate product type:

  • Single: For one product with one size or variation.
  • Variable: For products with multiple sizes or variations (e.g., different weights or quantities).
  • Group: For bundling multiple single product offerings (e.g., a multipack of jams).

3. Photos: Upload high-quality images of your product:

  • Main photo should be taken in a well-lit kitchen setting, showcasing the product before preparation.
  • Avoid photos that are dirty (e.g., unwashed carrots). Additional photos can show the cooked product or the field they’re from.

4. Price: Set the price of your product. Consider commissions and handling expenses.

5. Discount Price (Optional): Enter a discount price and schedule if applicable.

6. Categories: Select the store category for your product. For wholesale items, also select the “Wholesale” category.

7. Tags: Use tags to highlight features like Seasonal, Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Vegan, USDA Certified, Organic, etc.

8. Origin: Specify where your products were made (e.g., Willamette Valley, High Desert, Coast, or specific cities like Silverton, Bend, Ashland).

9. Availability: Indicate how often the product is available (e.g., “Weekly, Saturday” or “Daily”).

10. Descriptions:

  • Short Description: Provide a quick summary of the product.
  • Description: Go into further detail about the product, including production methods, pickup locations, ingredients, and features. Mention preparation methods or pairing suggestions.

Step 3: Manage Inventory

2. Stock Management: Enable stock management to set available quantities. If stock is unlimited, leave unchecked. Decide whether to allow backorders.

3. Limit Stock: Optionally, limit the quantity of the product that can be purchased in a single order.

Step 4: SEO (Optional)

1. Edit Snippet: Modify how the product appears in Google Search by clicking the “Edit Snippet” button.

Advanced Listings

Variable Products

In order to list a product with variations using the same product listing, select the Product Type “Variable”

Then scroll down to the Attribute and Variation section. Make sure “Custom Attribute” is selected and click the “Add attribute” button. Make sure the “Visible on the product page” and “Used for variations” boxes are checked.

Name: This could be “Size”, “Color”, or whatever sets your different products aside. We don’t recommend “Flavor” being a variation, but should be separate product listings.

Value(s): Would be related to the Name field, so the different sizes, color, quantity, etc. Separate multiple values by using the | symbol (hold Shift and press the backslash typically found above the Enter or Return key on your keyboard).

Click the “Save attribute” button, Then click the “Go” button by the “Create variations from all attributes”. Then click OK on the pop up.

Click “Expand” in the bottom right.

Now each one of your variations can have a photo and price specific to that product. If you would like to have specific quantities per variation, check the “Manage Stock” box and add quantity to the Stock Quantity field. Add a variation description that would separate it from the other variations, such as number of servings.

Once all the variations have been filled out, click the “Save Variations” button and continue listing your product like normal.

Group Products

Great for selling a bundle of your single product offerings, such as a multipack of jams. The benefit here is that customers can add additional quantity to individual products within the group.

Step 1: Create Parent Group Product

Now, a vendor needs to login to his dashboard. And create a new product.

Navigate to Vendor dashboard→ Product→ Add new

The product category must be group product. So, select Group Product from the Product Type drop-down menu.

Remember a group product is a parent product so there is no price field and also you need to select a category. If you have no category, please create one (only Admins can create product categories).

Step 2: Create child product:

Navigate to Vendor dashboard→ Product→ Add new

As this is the child product the category of the product must be as same the parent product. Also, this product needs to be hidden from the catalog. Under the other option, there is a visibility field. You need to set it hidden  and save the product as shown in the screenshot:

Now you can see the product is hidden:

Step 3: Link the child product to the Parent product:

Get back to the parent product and click on the linked product option under the inventory option. And select the child product in the group product section and linked them both.

If you are having difficulties please see the screenshot:

Following step 2 and step 3 you can link more product to the parent product. And all of the products.

After creating and linking all your child product to the parent product you will get a group product:
